A Port Richmond shop that works the whole city

AlbPlumbing runs out of a garage shop at 3624 E Thompson St in Port Richmond. The sign over the door says it plainly: ALB PLUMBING LLC, with the same number you call. Our pipe and parts stock is right here, which puts Port Richmond, Bridesburg, Fishtown and Kensington minutes away and Center City about 11 minutes down I-95 outside rush hour.

From the St. Adalbert steeple on Allegheny Avenue to the Betsy Ross Bridge ramps in Bridesburg, this corner of the city is home. We work across all of Philadelphia, for homeowners, landlords and businesses.

Rowhomes, twins and new builds

Most of the houses we work in here are brick rowhomes and twins from the early 1900s: a flat roof, a basement with the water line and shutoff on the front wall, a cast iron drain stack, and often a house trap near where the sewer leaves for the street. They are well built, but a lot of the original plumbing is past its life.

Infill and conversions in Fishtown, Kensington and Northern Liberties bring the opposite job: new multi unit buildings that need every line run from scratch. We do both kinds of work.

Philadelphia owners own the lines to the street

In Philadelphia the sewer lateral and the water service line that connect a property to the city mains belong to the property owner, not the Water Department. When one fails, the repair is on the owner, which is why a camera inspection and an honest diagnosis matter so much here.
