Drain Cleaning

A slow drain is the early warning

A sink that takes a minute to empty is telling you something. A floor drain gurgling in the basement is telling you more. We clear clogs in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry lines and floor drains across Philadelphia, and we open the main line when every fixture in the building backs up at once.

The goal is a drain that stays clear, not one that buys you a week. So we find where the clog starts, clear it with the right tool for that pipe, and tell you what caused it.

Sewage coming up a floor drain?

That is a call now problem, day or night. Stop running water in the house, keep kids and pets away from the backup, and call (267) 279-8533. If we are on another line, leave a message. Urgent calls are returned as soon as we can.

Drains we clear every week

  • Kitchen sinks and garbage disposal lines
  • Bathroom sinks, tubs and shower drains
  • Toilets that clog again and again
  • Laundry standpipes and basement floor drains
  • Main line backups, through the cleanout or the house trap
  • Restroom, break room and mop sink drains in commercial spaces

How a drain call goes

  1. Find where it starts

One slow fixture points to a branch line. Everything backing up at once points to the main. A couple of questions and a look usually tell us which.

  2. Clear it with the right tool

Hand augers for fixtures, machine cables for main lines, and a camera when we need eyes underground. No guessing with acid.

  3. Run it and check

We run water through every fixture on that line before we pack up, so you know it is actually moving.

  4. Tell you what we found

Grease, wipes, roots or a broken pipe. If it is likely to come back, you hear that from us, along with your options.

Philadelphia drains have a long history

Plenty of Philadelphia rowhomes still drain through the original cast iron stack and a house trap near the front basement wall. After a century, cast iron scales up inside and the trap catches whatever gets past it. When a clog keeps coming back, the pipe itself can be the problem.

That is when a camera inspection earns its keep. It shows whether you are dealing with buildup, roots or a cracked section before anyone talks about opening a floor. If it turns out to be the line to the street, our sewer line page covers what comes next.

FAQ

Drain Cleaning questions

Do you use a drain camera?

When a clog keeps coming back or we suspect roots or a broken pipe, yes. A camera look shows what is happening inside the line before any digging or cutting.

Is store bought drain cleaner safe for my pipes?

We would rather you skip it. It rarely clears a real blockage, it is hard on older pipes and traps, and it is still sitting in the line when the pipe gets opened.

Do you clean drains for businesses?

Yes. Restrooms, break rooms, floor drains, mop sinks and kitchen lines for offices, shops, restaurants and property managed buildings.
